The year of 2012 not only brings new trends in wedding dresses, but very new trends in the color palette as well. People are no longer choosing boring pastels, but bright and shiny new colors!
In 2011, bridemaids were seen walking down the aisle in a bright shade of purple the most. There were all different shades of purple: lilac, magenta, plum. Purple was THE color to wear last season.
2012 is different. Brides are choosing bright colors this spring such as coral, teal and canary yellow. Vivid and bold is the way to go in 2012!
Another popular trend is to pair a light color with a dark color such as charcoal grey and sunshine yellow or navy blue and hot pink.
Remember that when you are choosing the perfect palette, you want to make sure the colors blend well. For example, you wouldn’t want to choose red and green for a May wedding. First of all, people always think of Christmas and those colors are on the opposite side of the color wheel.
Brides are no longer using two colors to help decorate their entire wedding. They are generally using between two and seven different colors. Some are using every color of the rainbow for a very vibrant wedding! Also, I say this in almost every blog; remember that there are no rules! This is your special day!
